back to the quilt! I picked my fabric palette:

picked a block out of my favorite quilt book (Collaborative Quiltmaking by Gwen Marston and Freddy Moran):

tried out a block:

tried again, this time trying not to sew so willy nilly:

I have seven blocks done so far (I finished another after this pic):

I wanted to have a 3 x 4 block layout, but I'm running out of background fabric. I pulled out some other greens, but I like the look of a continuous background fabric. So it will be a 3 x 3 layout instead. I'm not sure yet if I will add a simple border or not.
now who could this quilt be for? you?

It's very cute. Again, love the wonkiness.
Love these. This wonky block gives me so many ideas.
Just saw these on flickr ~ The angles on these babies are great ! Just Right. It will be interesting to see the binding. I finished my DQS4 this morning ! Way before deadline ~ how did I do that?!
Sarah, you're amazing....i have to get that book (collaborative quilting)!!!
Love them!!! But then I am having a love affair with orange :) Collaborative Quilting is my favorite quilting book of all time - I even bought copies for my quilting buddies!!!
These blocks are so beautiful!! And the orange-green combination is just gorgeous!! Someone is very very lucky :-)

love the colors and style-fits right in with true wonkiness
I love the colors that you have chosen. And I have the same books. Strange.....
I love those churn dashes! Jan Mullen has a similar look in her Cut Loose Quilts which of course she calls churn dashez. I did a quilt for a fundraiser doing those churn dashez and loved it!
