fieldtrip

one of the changes i was thinking about for the blog is the content. so far i have blogged mostly about quilting. and while i love it, quilting does not take up the vast majority of my time. my kids do. if you didn't know already, we homeschool our children. this is our eighth year in this adventure.

while i don't expect this to become a homeschooling blog, it will become a blog about my life. i know several of you are here because i post about quilting, so you can just skip the non-quilty posts if you want : )

a day at the beach with my mom

we follow a charlotte mason method of education. we read good books, explore our natural world around us, discover artists/musicians/poets, develop our skills in reading/writing/mathematics, and learn about the history of the world. along the way we deepen our relationships with each other and with our Lord. i cherish these times. ever thankful that our lifestyle enables us to homeschool.

yesterday we joined our homeschool group for a fieldtrip to a tae kwon do studio(?). the kids were given a demonstration and also a small lesson. they had such a great time. unfortunately there are not enough hours in the day or enough money in the bank to do everything we wish to do.

marguerite also had her first soccer game of the season. she and zach have been playing for several years now. this is zach and i on the sidelines watching the game in the rain. thankfully it didn't rain the whole time.

I love blogs that mix things up... our lives are full, and it's a pleasure sharing all of the activities. Many cheers for homeschooling.

I think homeschooling is great. We did it with our children for a while. I have only just started to quilt which I am enjoying.

Homeschooling! Mmm...I am not sure I know much about it ;)
I think it's a great idea to mix your posts up a bit.
