and the winner is...

nancy/nkuelbs! nancy email your address to me (krommama at gmail dot com) and i will get it in the mail this week.

thanks for playing everyone!

i'm off to finish my last doll quilt for the four way swap!

and for today's picture:

quilt
my very first picture posted on flickr!

I made this quilt for a friend of mine who was having her second child. And I have two things to share about it. First, I just saw this friend recently, and when I stopped at her house, her first child was snuggled up on the couch with it. I hope all the quilts I give are loved and used. I regret not using the baby quilts my mom made for my children. I always thought "this is too nice to use". Second thought about this quilt is that long after I gave it to my friend, we were chatting on the phone, and she said "I just noticed there were fish on this one piece of fabric". I love making quilts with lots of details, different fabrics - little surprises here and there. I love quilts that have a lot to discover.

Congrats! I love your quilt! I, like you, love to know that the quilts I giveaway are being loved. What a great story about her 1st child.

Congratulations to the winner. I love the bright greens in your quilt, I can just picture a child cuddled up with it.

It's too bad that many of us had that "I can't use it, it's too nice" habit. I had it too, saved it all, then lost it all in a fire in '87, all brand new, and clean and waiting to give to my kids when they were older. Listen girls, use it or loose it.

The surprises are really wonderful aren't they! I love the gnome and mushroom quilt from the other post. How true about transferring paper piecing to free piecing. I've done one paper pieced quilt- never again! By the way, I nominated you for a blog award- see my blog!

i think that quilt is one of the first i saw on flickr, long before we "met" and became friends. i remember saving it to my computer then losing it and was so sad because loved it so much. then we became friends and i saw it through your flickrstream one day and was giddy with joy that it was you who made it!

That is a very sweet quilt! I'm sure it's been well loved!

On a side note, are you interested in testing a new pattern for me? I'd love to see what you do with it!
