Polka Dot Estates

I finally finished my "housing project" quilt. I made this quilt for Tonya's Lazy Gal Summer 2008 class. The theme of this class is repetition. I pieced it in a few days, quilted it in just a day, and spent months procrastinating on binding it. Why? Why do I do that? I know why, because I started other projects. I can't have more than one project going. I wont come back to it in a timely manner.

Polka Dot Estates

I have renamed the quilt Polka Dot Estates (thanks for all the suggestions on flickr). LauraJay and I were talking about house quilts recently, and I sent her a link to Tonya's house tutorial. Guess what she called it? housing project! No wonder I thought it was a great name. I guess my subconscious held on to that name until I started my quilt. Sorry Tonya! Never meant to use your quilt name. Eek! Please accept my apologies!

Polka Dot Estates

Well, I'm glad to have this quilt finished. I had declared this the "year of quilts for my family". This is the first full sized quilt I have made for us to keep. I hope to have a few more quilts done by the end of this year for us too.

I'm so in love with this quilt. The houses are great, but I think the choice of the green background really makes it. Well done!

This is such a cheerful, happy quilt :- )

Thanks for giving us the finished dimensions. That helps me make up my mind about the quilt I'm debating whether to border or not!
