helloooo....anybody still here?

I'm sorry that I haven't been around friend. How are you? I've been going through a funk. A no sewing, not much computering, and definitely not blogging funk. I've been resting, reading, planning school - trying to make sure I have my priorities straight. Trying to find the balance between my home life and resposibilities and my internet life of reading blogs, preparing for swaps, flickring. I know most of us go through this from time to time. I know I want to keep blogging, so I need to make a conscious effort to do so. So here we go....

I've been tagged for a few memes. How do you pronounce meme anyway? Is it mem or me me or meem or what?

this one is from Susan at chickenfoot

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1. what was i doing ten years ago?
(Zach was one, Billy and I had traveled to New York for a wedding in the spring, and we were buying our first and current house) ha ha, I was thinking about this post and realized that I had only gone back 9 years - oops. 10 years ago we were living in a tiny duplex and zach was just a few months old.

2.five things on my to do list today:
laundry, putting away all the clutter, schooling, sewing, taking the kids to gymnastics

3.snacks i enjoy:
chocolate chip cookies and milk, potato chips and dip, chocolate milk

4. things i would do if i was a billionaire:
restore a historic home for us to live in, RV around the US with the family, travel the world making the world our classroom, hire a fitness trainer, plan for our future and our children's future, try to live a normal balanced life so my kids don't grow up to be self centered brats

5.five places i have lived:
St. Petersburg, Fl and Gainesville, Fl (call me Mrs. Excitement)

6. people that i want to know more about:
people who read my blog!

OK friends, I will try to be a better blogger! Up next will be all the thank yous I need to say for all the wonderful mail I've been receiving.

And because I think every post should have a picture, here is one of me trying to muster up some sewing creativity. Can you tell what I'm making? I'll give you a hint. It's made out of logs and will be 6 inches square. One more hint. Mini Quilt Swap

I'm here. Recently found your blog, but can't recall how....oh maybe someone who was making scrap blocks had a link to your blog. I'm not very good at getting links into my blog - still learning in my old age. Don't know how to pronounce meme and have never attempted one on my blog. I enjoy reading others' answers though.Sometimes amusing. I understand your down time; I struggle with that myself. I read books when I can't muster up energy to fondle fabric. Just finished Alan Alda's 2nd book and love this quote from him...."What if the Hokey-Pokey really IS what it's all about?" love, Love LOVE your scrap quilts. Have 2 bins ready to do same - one cottons, one fancies. Now to find the energy-all is being expended on setting up my 2 room studio these days. My blog is gettingtocrazy.blogspot.com - check it out - it may inspire you!

Hi! Good to hear from you again! And yes, I'm still here :-) Even in the world of blogging, you should be allowed to have some time to yourself!
The meme is fun. Great answers... Did you tag anyone?

I can be the funkiest at times, so I know what you mean.

I have read that this happens to all creative people. it is a way for our mind/soul to sit and percolate.

Often after an extended down period we come up with the very best ideas.
