doing double duty! this mini quilt is also an angel quilt for doll quilt swap 6. someone was unable to send a doll quilt, and there was a need for one to be made. actually there was need for more than one.
this one was a quickie. i love making house quilts. i don't know when or if i will ever tire of making them. the colors of this quilt were inspired by a bouquet of zinnias from a friend's garden.
since this was a quickie. i did quickie machine finished binding. i hope my partner doesn't mind. i've gotten pretty good at it (if i don't say so myself - ha!), so i think it looks good.
now, since i'm "apologizing" for machine finished binding, it made me think of all the other times i'm critical of my piecing and quilting. i don't think i'm the only one who does this. but why do we do this to ourselves?
i declare that i'm not going to feel bad or apologize for my quilts anymore! who's with me?!
***edited to add - i meant to say "if i do say so myself" - ha! thanks for the reassurance though!***

i'm with you! i always point out the flaws..why!?!? people don't even notice. i will stop too!
I was going to say just the opposite -- your machine binding looks great. I haven't mastered that yet.
Hehe - I agree with Brenda, I wish my machine binding looked that good!
I agree that you shouldn't apologize for your work, but the binding really does look great!
No apologies!
And your machine binding looks great.
You did a great job on the binding! Stop apologizing for it!
Adorable quilt! It is so nice of you to be an angel so that everyone from DQS6 gets a quilt.
Very cute mini- If I worry about the mistakes - I'll never get anything finished. Too many times I point mistakes out that no one else noticed!
What a cute quilt!
It just dawned on me that pointing out the mistakes on our quilts is like saying Hey..look at this fat roll I have here and the crooked toe down there. Most people don't care!! They see the beauty!! Thank you for enlightening me once again my friend. Your quilt is as beautiful as you!
It is just absolutely perfect and adorable. No need for apologies whatsoever!
great attitude - no more feeling bad or apologizing!!! what a cute quilt-love the colors. that binding looks great - I'm envious of your ability to do it!
I always love your houses. The choice of colors here is great. My aunt says quilters are so bad about pointing out their mistakes. Lets make a pact not to do that any more.
I think it looks fantastic. Who could quibble over the binding! By the way, I need to get more practice with machine sewn bindings. It took me a while to see that if you put it on from the back instead of the front, the machine stitching is easy to make look nice.
Wow, you really DO do a good job with the machine stitched binding! I don't do it because I don't usually like the way it turns out (and I enjoy that bit of handstitching at the tail end of a quilt).
Maybe I'll get brave and post your declaration on my blog too...
Toot-toot! I am SO with you! The houses are just great!
I love your housing project. Those houses are very cute. I know what you mean about being self critical. The binding looks really nice. I need to figure out how to do machine sewing on the binding.
Your machine binding is very well done, I'm so impressed. Whenever I try I end up ripping it out and doing it by hand, which takes longer than if I'd just decided to do it by hand in the first place! I love the little houses quilt...you ARE an angel!
So you didn't say how you did it. Did you sew onth eback and flip over to front or do a potholder style ala Fun Quilts?
i've been looking at your blog for weeks, over and over,,,,, and you have NOTHING to apologize for .....at all!!!
miss your posts, hope you're doing well
